A web search showed this to be somewhere in between 20 and 22 AWG. The wire size should be given in the Amazon listing. This cable would probably be fine to charge an iPhone or iPod, but I would not use it with any tools, larger lights, air compressors, etc. (I could find no fuse.) The AMP rating is not on the wire, nor on the packaging, so do your own careful research before using. It did not work out so good, the wire is too thin to use on a battery charger that only draws 5 amps DC. The batteries would not correctly charge due to a low voltage condition the thin wiring caused. Even so, I'd definitely say that I got my money's worth and it worked fine up until that point. I bought it again as a replacement. The cord is pretty long, so you if don't really need 12 feet, you might want to use to twist ties to keep a portion of it wrapped up. |
